581 The Kingdom of God is Not What You Think

Monday, August 25th: In this episode of The Daily Grind, John unpacks one of Jesus’ most repeated but most misunderstood themes: the Kingdom of God. Too often we confuse the kingdom with the church, an army, or even a destination after death—but Jesus meant something far deeper and far nearer. Dallas Willard captured it best: the kingdom is simply the place “where what God wants done is done.” Jesus declared that this kingdom is now “at hand,” meaning within reach today, not someday. The Sermon on the Mount is then revealed as a new ethic for a new kind of kingdom, one that overturns anger, lust, pride, and worry with love, purity, humility, and trust. Through vivid illustrations, biblical examples, and personal applications, John shows how we can live as kingdom citizens now.
