Tuesday, August 18th: Hebrews 6:13–20 reminds us that our hope rests on the unchanging character of God. Thursday, August 13th: An earthly high priest represented the people before God, dealt gently with those who wandered, and offered sacrifices for sin—but he was also a sinner who needed forgiveness. Wednesday, August 12th: God’s Word penetrates beneath our appearances and exposes the thoughts and intentions of our hearts. Tuesday, August 11th: Israel failed to enter the Promised Land because they heard God’s promise but did not receive it with faith. Hebrews tells us that God’s greater rest still remains—a rest rooted in creation, pictured in Canaan and the Sabbath, secured through Christ’s finished work, and awaiting its complete fulfillment when Jesus returns. Friday, August 7th: Moses was one of the greatest and most faithful servants in Israel’s history, but Jesus is worthy of greater glory. Moses served within God’s household and testified about what was coming; Jesus is the Son who rules over the household and fulfills everything Moses anticipated. Hebrews therefore calls us to consider Jesus carefully, hold firmly to our hope, and place our confidence in the faithful Son rather than in any human servant, institution, or tradition.

Thursday, August 6th: The eternal Son became truly human so that He could suffer in our place, taste death for us, and bring many sons and daughters into glory. Through Jesus Christ, God's presence is no longer distant but with us now, and one day we will experience that presence fully forever. Ezekiel's closing words are not merely the end of a book. Monday, July 27th: In The Inheritance of Grace, Ezekiel 48:1-29 describes the distribution of the land among Israel's tribes. While it appears to be a simple list of boundaries, it reveals God's unwavering faithfulness to His covenant promises. Every tribe receives an inheritance, reminding us that God's grace restores what sin has broken. The central portion set apart for the Lord points to Christ, who belongs at the center of every believer's life. Ultimately, our greatest inheritance is not earthly land but the eternal inheritance secured for us through Jesus Christ.

Friday, July 24th: Ezekiel 47 presents one of the Bible's most beautiful visions: a river flowing from God's temple that grows deeper as it travels, bringing life wherever it goes. The river transforms the Dead Sea, causes trees to flourish, and brings healing to the nations. This remarkable picture points directly to Jesus, who promised living water through the Holy Spirit, and ultimately to Revelation 22, where the River of Life flows from God's throne forever. God's presence always brings life, restoration, and hope to a dying world.

Thursday, 23 July: In True Worship, we explore Ezekiel 44-46 and discover what life looks like when God's glory dwells among His people. The closed eastern gate, the faithful priests, the righteous prince, and the rhythms of worship all point beyond Israel's temple to Jesus Christ. Worship is not confined to a building or a service. Through Christ, every believer is invited into a life of joyful obedience, integrity, and daily surrender. True worship is not simply something we do on Sundays. It is the way we live every day in the presence of our King.

Wednesday, July 22: The long-awaited moment has arrived. In Ezekiel 43, the glory of the Lord returns to the temple, reversing the heartbreaking departure described in Ezekiel 10 and 11. This chapter marks the climax of Ezekiel's message of hope. God's return points beyond the restored temple to Jesus Christ, in whom the glory of God dwells bodily. Through Christ and the gift of the Holy Spirit, God's presence now lives within His people, anticipating the day when He will dwell with them forever in the New Creation. God's greatest promise has always been His presence.

Tuesday, July 21: In Part 41 of The Gospel According to Ezekiel, Ezekiel 42 shifts our attention from architecture to holiness. June 08: In this podcast episode, we explore Thornton Wilder's one-act play, "The Angel That Troubled the Waters," which draws inspiration from John 5:1-4. Set by the pool of Bethesda, renowned for its healing waters when stirred by an angel, the play presents a modern rendition where a weary physician seeks solace from his melancholy. Through a profound dialogue with the angel, the physician discovers that his wounds and sorrows grant him the power to touch the hearts of others. As the play unfolds, the physician's role shifts, offering hope and solace to those in need, reminding us that embracing our own brokenness allows us to become wounded healers as we draw closer to Jesus. The episode concludes with reflections on the importance of bringing our wounds into the light, letting go of guilt and shame, and embracing forgiveness, enabling us to serve others in love's name. Friday, June 5th: In Episode 785 of The Daily Grind, we continue The Gospel According to Ezekiel with Part 25, “Broken Reeds and False Hopes,” from Ezekiel 30. Ezekiel announces that the Day of the Lord is coming upon Egypt, one of the most powerful nations of the ancient world. Cities will fall, armies will collapse, and allies will be scattered as God exposes the false security Egypt represented. For years Judah had looked to Egypt for protection instead of trusting God, but Egypt proves to be a broken reed, appearing strong while ultimately unable to bear the weight placed upon it. Ezekiel reminds us that people often build their hopes on temporary foundations such as wealth, power, politics, success, or human systems. The chapter reveals that God sometimes allows false securities to collapse so people can discover where true security is found. Throughout the passage, the repeated phrase “They will know that I am the Lord” shows that God's goal is not destruction but revelation. Christians ultimately see Jesus as the unshakable foundation who remains when every other support fails. Thursday, June 4th: In Episode 784 of The Daily Grind, we continue The Gospel According to Ezekiel with Part 24, “Pharaoh the Great Monster,” from Ezekiel 29. Ezekiel turns his attention to Egypt, one of the oldest and most powerful civilizations of the ancient world. God compares Pharaoh to a great monster lounging in the Nile River, proudly claiming ownership of the very blessings God had provided. Through this vivid image, Ezekiel exposes the dangers of pride, self-sufficiency, and misplaced trust. The chapter also reveals how Judah repeatedly looked to Egypt for rescue instead of relying on God. God describes Egypt as a broken reed, something that appears strong but fails when people lean upon it. Ezekiel reminds us that wealth, power, politics, and human institutions make poor saviors because they cannot bear the weight of ultimate trust. Egypt's coming humiliation demonstrates that every earthly empire is temporary. Christians ultimately see the answer to this problem in Jesus Christ, the only foundation strong enough to support our lives completely. Wednesday, June 3rd: In Episode 783 of The Daily Grind, we continue The Gospel According to Ezekiel with Part 23, “The Nations Will Know,” from Ezekiel 28:20–26. After many chapters focused on judgment, Ezekiel begins turning toward restoration and hope. God announces judgment against Sidon, yet repeatedly declares that through both judgment and restoration, people will know that He is the Lord. The passage reminds us that God's ultimate goal is not merely punishment but relationship and redemption. Ezekiel speaks to exiles who had lost their homes, security, and future, assuring them that God has not abandoned them. One day He will gather His scattered people, restore them to their land, and allow them to dwell securely again. The chapter serves as a powerful reminder that difficult seasons are often not the end of the story. Christians ultimately see this promise fulfilled more fully in Jesus, who gathers people from every nation into God's family.
