59. Discerning God's Voice, with Jason Vonk

We know our earthly father's voice. We've heard it a million times. We could be in a room with a thousand other men and as soon as we heard our dad's voice, we'd be able to pick it out with full confidence. But how are we at discerning our heavenly Father's voice? He speaks to us, too. Regularly. He longs to guide and direct our paths, to give us words of encouragement, to comfort us, to lovingly correct us, to help us live out our true calling. And yes, to empower us in our role as father as well. But many men struggle with hearing from God. Sometimes it's hard for us to even believe that He desires to talk to us personally. When we do hear, it's easy to doubt it. To question it. To wonder if it really was God.  Yet, hearing from God is possible -- and it's something that we can get better at with practice. We're joined in this episode by Jason Vonk, executive leadership coach, to learn what it means to discern God's voice. We discuss ways of hearing from God, talk about how to filter what's from God vs. what's our own inner voice, share stories of times God has clearly spoken to us (and how), and equip listeners with practical ways of helping our kids to learn how to hear from God themselves. After 29 years in the gymnastics business, he now does Sherpa Executive Coaching and facilitates workshops on leadership.
