59. Part 2 Behind the Scenes: What Really Happened Before the This is for Us Birthday Party

from This Is For Us · host Noël Roberts Coley

Welcome back to another episode of This Is For Us! Today, I'm diving into Part Two of the This Is For Us Turns One birthday celebration! Last time, I shared the highlights and unexpected moments leading up to our amazing event. Today, it's all about the takeaways—the memorable moments, reflections, and life lessons from a night filled with joy, courage, and community. And a special shoutout for those of you listening on 11/11! This magical date reminds us to dream big, manifest abundance, and trust that everything is aligning perfectly. Here's to making this year and the next the best yet! HIGHLIGHTS 1. The Power of Togetherness Seeing so many women come with friends, sisters, or moms made me realize how This Is For Us is not just a podcast—it's a place for community and connection. I'm grateful to have created a space that brings people together to laugh, share, and celebrate life's wins. 2. We're All in This Together As women, we all share that feeling of self-doubt, insecurity, or worry about not fitting in. Watching everyone enjoy themselves made me realize how similar we are and reminded me that we're never alone in how we feel. 3. Showing Up Alone Is a Bold Move I was in awe of those who walked in alone. It takes so much courage to step into a room where you don't know anyone. This night was all about feeling welcomed, loved, and truly celebrated, no matter how we arrived. 4. Celebrating All Ages, Stages, and Styles From sequins to jeans, I was thrilled to see everyone embracing their unique style and rocking what made them feel amazing. This party was a celebration of authenticity and showing up exactly as you are. 5. Small Choices, Big Impact For those who took a little extra step—putting on a pair of lashes or going bold with an outfit choice—you could see the confidence glow! Sometimes, it's the little things that help us step into our power. 6. Breaking the Age Barrier Women of all ages gathered, and it made me realize age is just a number. Let's keep lifting each other up, regardless of where we are in life, and see each other as allies and inspirations. 7. There's Always a Way When there's a vision and a dream, there's always a way to make it happen—even if it means pivoting, finding new solutions, or leaning on others. This party was a testament to perseverance, support, and unwavering belief in what This Is For Us can be. RESOURCES Want to connect, ask for advice, or share a story? DM me! The move towards more renewables in our energy systems complicates matters even further, requiring the development of an integrated power grid and continuous and steady transformation of the UK power system. Network flows must be managed reliably under uncertain demands, uncertain supply, emerging network technologies and possible failures and, further, prices in related markets can be highly volatile. Mathematicians working with engineers and economists, can make significant contributions to address such issues, by helping to develop fit-for-purpose models for next generation energy systems. These interdisciplinary approaches are looking to address a range of associated problems, including modelling, prediction, simulation, control, market and mechanism design and optimisation.
