59. Rescuing Others is Hurting You (and What to Do Instead)

Welp, here we are again. Talking about how whenever you view someone as a victim and try to rescue them, you end up persecuting them. If you have ANY attachment to or expectation of HOW they "should" respond to your saviorism, your potential persecution of them only amplifies. When you are trying to rescue someone from their circumstances/emotions/etc., THEY do not owe you anything. And this is where it gets hairy, because we deeply expect them to be respectful, listen to our advice, take what we're saying/offering "seriously," be grateful, etc. And when they INEVITABLY are not those things, we judge them, criticize them, belittle them.
