#59 Sharon Lindeman (Yogini ) / Amanda Cole (Quill and the Man Documentary) "Don't Give Up On Yourself"

from i want what SHE has · host Shana Falana and Theresa Widmann

Hello to you... and happy Women's History Month! In our girl talk and give some context to what this month means to us, Shana was raised in a more feminine environment and Theresa a more masculine environment. Our whole show is actually all about women that are MAKING history NOW! Locally we have great events going on here in Kingston NY, you can check them out HERE. Our first guest today is Sharon Lindeman, musician, writer and energy healer. She studied dance and yoga in the 80's in California and then moved to NY with her then husband and opened the famed Small’s Jazz club in NYC. She becomes moved to tears in this interview in speaking about the musicians that played their club. She has this beautiful concept of true strength, even physical comes from an open heart. Her humble spirit is a treasure to listen to in this rare interview! Our second guest is Amanda Cole, musician, writer, poet and filmmaker. She is currently telling her father's story of his failed music career after the 60's Woodstock concert and how this affected her own creative life in the documentary: Quill and the Man. She's struggled with identifying what to focus on and needing to find validation from others. She talks about finding community or building it, and how everything you need is right in front of you if you just pay attention! Self Care: Shana talks about the Third Agreement "Don't Make Assumptions" and Theresa talks about the new moon and to listen to your heart instead of your mind! Today’s show was engineered by Manuel Blas of Radio Kingston, www.radiokingston.org.
