#60 - Jan Willem Regenhardt - Louis van Gasteren: Seismograaf van onze tijd

'Ik dacht dat hij ook een regisseur van zijn eigen leven was, als biograaf was ik bang dat hij de regie zou overnemen,' aldus biograaf Jan Willem Regenhardt over regisseur en beeldend kunstenaar Louis van Gasteren. Die regie bleek gelukkig mee te vallen, hij kreeg zelfs de sleutel van het huis. Toch was het schrijven van dit boek een flinke taak. Maar liefst veertien jaar deed Jan Willem over deze biografie; niet in de eerste plaats omdat Louis al zijn papierwerk bewaarde, maar vooral omdat hij maar niet stierf en actief bleef tot zijn laatste adem. Presentator Tess de Bruijn praat met Jan Willem Regenhardt over deze gelauwerde, maar ook omstreden kunstenaar; Louis van Gasteren doodde zijn ongehoorzame Duitse onderduiker in de oorlog en bracht daarom drie jaar door in de gevangenis.
