62 | Why, God? Ask Questions Without Mom Guilt - Devotion

from Time for Mom | Self-Esteem, Routines, Mom Guilt, Priorities, Comparison, Devotional, Self-Worth · host Cheryl Davis - Busy SAHM Mentor, Time Management Coach, Wife

Do you question God when asks you to obey but you don't understand why he's asking—just like your kids question you? Have you fought with God when you didn't understand his direction? Are you wondering if God is okay with your questions or if he's asking you for silent obedience? If so, you’re in the right place.  Hi Beautiful, I’m Cheryl — wife, SAHM, coach, and mentor. After years of comparison and mom guilt, I learned the secret to becoming the mom my girls needed! By prioritizing time with Jesus, building simple routines that actually worked, and discovering what self‑esteem and self‑worth look like through God’s eyes, I was able to find joy in motherhood. If you’re ready to build faith while washing dishes, become the mom you hoped you’d be, and love yourself the way your babies do — grab your earbuds and lock the bathroom door for a minute alone. It’s Time for Mom. In this episode, I’m sharing how watching my kids ask questions and struggle with obedience opened my eyes to how I do the same with God so you can find peace in the struggle between obedience and understanding.  Obedience often comes before understanding, both for our kids and for us with God. Kids play the “Why?” game, and we often do the same with God when we delay obedience. God sees dangers, consequences, and priorities we don't, just like we do with our children. It’s healthy to ask God why, but He still calls us to obedience rooted in love (Deuteronomy 11:1). God sometimes withholds answers because faith grows through trust, not full explanations. Acts of obedience—like Rahab’s—can shape generations, even when we don’t see the fruit right away. Choosing obedience over questioning helps us build spiritual routines, stronger faith, and deeper trust in God’s guidance.
