Adam is back and we give the lowdown on what to expect at the 2024 Desert Classic, followed by a reflection of the tough lessons learned at the 2023 Arizona Four-Ball, Arizona Mid-AM, and Arizona Women’s AM. Key Highlights Progress isn’t linear. Especially in the beginning, we tend to assume that our skills only get better with time. More often than not, they don’t. Accept that setbacks and distractions are just part of the journey, and aim for consistency over results! The personal stuff matters. Have realistic expectations. Life happens. Priorities shift. A year ago, You could become a plus handicapper after an intense, dedicated season of training, then lose that edge in a month just because of a life change that put golf lower on your list of priorities. After getting married, Ricky Fowler went from the top five down to the top 500. It happens to the best of the best. Follow the plan. The absolute best way to keep nerves at bay during a championship is to employ a steady stream of patience and stick to your plan. The more you familiarize yourself with your strategy and the course you’re applying it to—the more objectively you view the experience—the less intimidating the game becomes. The tournament isn’t over yet. Stay in the present. No matter how much you believe there’s no recovering, even if you think you’re stuck in last place, if the tournament isn’t over, there’s always an opportunity to recover. It doesn’t feel that way in the middle of the chaos on the golf course, but the second you decide to let it go and just play, you might be surprised where you end up on the leaderboard. Your most important shot is the one right in front of you. You can’t undo what you’ve already done. You can’t do your next three shots in advance. The most important shot in your golf career is the one you’re standing over right now.  To grab a free copy of the Round Report Card, download here: RoundReportCard.com.
