Her ambition and opulence strained her marriage with Maurizio Gucci, culminating in a contentious divorce that left her unsatisfied with a $1.5 million alimony. In 1995, Maurizio was shot and killed by a hitman hired by Patrizia, who was later convicted for orchestrating his murder. Despite evidence against her, Patrizia's defense claimed her actions were influenced by complications from a brain tumor. Sentenced to prison, she remained unrepentant, even refusing parole if it required working.
