#65 De rol van natrium in het lichaam en de invloed van geneesmiddelen, hyponatriëmie

In deze episode hebben we het over hyponatriëmie, een van de meest voorkomend elektrolyt stoornissen. Wat is dit nu precies, komt het door een tekort aan Natrium of juist door een teveel aan water. Dat laatste blijkt eigenlijk het geval te zijn. Teveel aan water leidt tot een verdunning van het Natrium en tot hyponatriëmie. Antidiuretisch hormoon speelt hierbij een belangrijke rol. Geneesmiddelen die een hyponatriëmie kunnen veroorzaken zijn vooral SSRI's, TCA's, thiazide diuretica en carbamazepine.
