The Not Old Better Show, Fitness Friday Interview Series

Welcome to The Not Old Better Show, Fitness Friday Interview series on radio and podcast.  I'm Paul Vogelzang, and today's show is brought to you by POM Wonderful; 100% Pomegranate Juice is "health in a bottle." We have an excellent new year program for all of us, making fitness resolutions and having some plain old fun.

Thank you so much for listening. As I say, we've got a great guest today, who I've been looking forward to for a while and whom I'll introduce in just a moment…But, quickly, if you missed any episodes, last week was our 682d episode, when I spoke to Sam Mulaim, to help us understand the challenges of building an online business using the website development tools from WordPress.  Two weeks ago, I spoke with Robert Ellsberg about his long-time friend, PBS star and humanitarian Sister Wendy Beckett. Wonderful stuff…If you missed those shows, along with any others, you can go back and check them out with my entire back catalog of shows, all free for you there on our website, NotOld-Better.com…and if you leave a review, we will read it at the end of each show…leave reviews on Apple Podcasts for us.

We have talked about pickleball on the show for some time now.  I've started to play, and grown more and more interested, along with the world…pickleball is the fastest growing US sport, played by all ages, but more and more of us in the Not Old Better Show audience…certainly are playing.

The game with the funny name was created in the 1960s and is, as I mentioned, today the fastest-growing sport in America. We have a two-part show today that will take you through the hows of the game. In today's episode, we talk to pro player, certified teaching pro, and author of the new book Pickleball for Dummies, Mo Nard.  Mo Nard will tell us that pickleball is easy to understand and appropriate for newbies as well as advanced players. We cover it all, from scoring, serving, dinking, places to play, and getting more involved in the community.

Please join me in welcoming to The Not Old Better Show, Fitness Friday, New Year edition, Mo Nard.

We we'll be right back with author of 'Pickleball for Dummies,' Mo Nard…please stay tuned.

My thanks to POM Wonderful; 100% Pomegranate Juice is "health in a bottle," for sponsoring today's show.  My thanks always to the

Behind Their Success Podcast Abs Mechial I started working in my dad's convenience store when I was about 11 years old (cliche, I know) Since then, I have not stopped working. I’ve had many jobs and worked with lots of inspiring and successful people. I then set up my own business, and I have crossed paths with many other successful entrepreneurs and business owners. From a very early age, I was always intrigued by how some people would achieve so much, yet others would struggle.I carried this through my entire working career. When I started a new role, I would often spend a lot of time observing and studying the top performers. Over the years, I have noticed patterns in overachievers, many of which I have incorporated into my work, business and lifestyle. I truly believe we work so much better when we collaborate and learn from each other, whether learning positive habits and skills to learning from each other's failures and shortfalls.I have started a podcast where I speak to high performers within various industrie OGs Not Old Heads Oktane and Shug The OGs Not Old Heads Podcast is your go-to podcast for the latest and greatest in the world of Hip-Hop, hosted by the dynamic duo, Oktane and Shug. The Gambler by Katherine Thurston Loyal Books Clodagh, 18 years old, is the eldest daughter of Dennis Asshlin, an Irish gentleman who lives in an area of Ireland called Orristown. Dennis is passionate, proud and indebted to no one. But, Dennis has an obsession with gambling that is leading the family to ruin. When tragedy strikes, Clodagh finds herself in a situation where she must defend the family honor because “no Asshlin is ever obliged to anyone”. She marries a man she does not love who is many times her age and is thrust from adolescence to adulthood literally overnight. Clodagh travels to Europe and mingles with people of society and fashion which through her immaturity, she believes is her right. She finds instead uncertainty, despondency, and deceit. Her emotions are constantly in battle with reality as she discovers her society acquaintances are not the “friends” she believes them to be. During her visit to Europe, Clodagh discovers that she too is burdened with the Asshlin curse for gambling which eventually leads to mo The Turn Of The Tide Eleanor H. Porter "What a joy! How exciting! Margret Kendall returned home, to her loving and equally beloved mother's arms after 4 years in the slums of New York City- where she endured unimaginable hardships. This hardship made the naturally brilliant nine-years-old strong, resourceful, and full of questions which her mother finds it hard to answer. But this is not the end of the problems she would have to face. Those will include her mother's intended marriage, her need to get along with her stepfather's people, and her ever present worry about her poor friends from New York who were there for her in her darkest moments. This book is ful of twists and turns, but you can hang on to the sub-title "How Margaret Solved Her Problems", and feel more of it's magic. You may think this is a dark book. Yes, it has it's dark parts. But it is also humorous, beautifully written and uplifting.Note that the prequel to this book, Cross Currents, is also available as an audiobook from the LibriVox catalog (Summary by
