The total death toll was one hundred and fifty two, including 26 teachers as well as seventy three boys and forty seven girls aged six to thirteen. Although the school is a known as a school for girls, the bombing affected mostly the boys section of the school. At least nine bombs were dropped directly onto the school over a period of eighty five seconds. The investigation concludes that the bomb used was definitively a U.S. Tomahawk cruise missile. Experts noted that the missile's distinctive fin fragments and body match U.S. munitions, and the U.S. is the only party in the conflict operating Tomahawk systems. The strike was likely based on information about the building that was a decade old, but the Pentagon neglected to update their targeting systems. President Trump, has denied responsibility and has suggested that Iran could have used the Tomahawk missile.
