Having initially met in a club toilet in 2015 (listen to theconversation for the full story on this!), Luke Folks and Owen Griffithsimmediately bonded over similar tastes in music and soon formed the duo Monica. From their early beginnings on Brighton's Codesouth Radio, they quickly forged a reputation DJing on the Brighton club circuit, playing for the likes of AVOY, Berlin-Brighton, The Lucas Phenomena and Search Party, as well as putting on their own night Foucault, which has seen them book the likes of respectedartists such as Aera, Skatman, Manpower and DC Salas .Over the past couple of years, their hard work and commitment to developing their own sound has finally come to fruition, with releases on labels such as Reculture, Applied Magic andmore recently, Eastern Standard.Listen to them chat candidly with podcast host Richard Q about their approach to producing music as a duo as well as the challenges and moments of self-doubt they’ve faced along the way. This is definitely one for any producers or promoters out there trying to make it in the dance music biz at the moment.@little_bits_of_monica @electric_communion @rick.mancuso Available on all the usual podcast platforms, Soundcloud and YouTube.
