7311: Cookie and Kim's Sweet Confections

from Coming From The Heart · host Coming From The Heart Podcast™

Sitting down with local restaurant owner Cookie Till and bake Kim Richmond, we immediately felt a connection to their friendship, passion, and ability to create a business like Ventnor No. 7311, which opened on May 6, 2015 with the concept of offering fresh and innovative baked items paired with fair-trade coffee and organic tea.  Both Kim and Cookie were born and raised on Absecon Island, and share a sense of pride for their home. Sharing this beautiful friendship for over 30 years, they were brought together by their mutual passion for baking and being creators of an amazing brand, which their community has definitely responded to with large lines and loyal customers. 7311 is more than just a warm chocolate chip cookie and a great cup of joe. It's a place to connect, feel welcome, and meet other locals. You'll also find a collection of handcrafted items from local artisans such as Mudgirls Studios, Spindrift Pottery, and Clint Hunter Pottery.  Located in an up and coming Ventnor neighborhood, the space has become a hub to showcase their culinary creations. With degrees in culinary arts and nutrition, the duo experiment daily with natural, fresh ingredients to introduce their interpretations of small batch baking. Everything is made on site - including paleo, gluten-free, and vegan options which change daily - and highlight the local seasonal ingredients from Reeds Organic Farm. Thank you Cookie and Kim for being on the episode! You can find Ventnor No. 7311 on their website ventnor7311.com, and follow them on Instagram @ventnor7311 and Twitter @ventnor7311.
