I grew up in the southwest of Germany and have been living in the southeast for over ten years now. Starting out as a conscious rap and funk DJ, I currently play mostly broken electronic sounds with a lot of bass from jazzy to cheesy. I also try to produce tracks like that but yeah, it’s not that easy :). For me, Nuremberg's nightlife is strongly linked to DIY culture. There are so many diverse crews and collectives shaping the night (and sometimes the day). While it seems to be rather quiet in the city, especially in the city center, you can be sure that there is always something going on in the surrounding neighborhoods. Sometimes I think if it's the city's industrial history that's responsible for the strong (electronic) music scene here. And sometimes I wonder whether it's because of the Bavarian government that the scene has to organize itself so often on a voluntary basis. Either way, it's there and it's beautiful.
