Alicia was blessed to speak with Josephine Hughes about being a mother to two transgender daughters. Josephine always considered herself a mother of 3 boys, but she soon discovered two of her children were trans and identified as girls/women. Josephine is a BACP Accredited Counsellor and a business mentor who helps other counselors to market their practice. Her career has centered around helping parents cope with change and supporting people in difficult circumstances such as baby loss, infertility, and domestic abuse. Since two of Josephine’s children came out as transgender in 2015, Josephine has been learning first-hand what it is like to face an unexpected change in family circumstances.
