77. Romans 8:18-22 (1-29-25) - Audio

from Calvary Chapel Elk Grove-The Book of Romans (2023-2026) · host Pastor Phil Ballmaier

77. Romans 8:18-22 Calvary Chapel Elk Grove Pastor Phil Ballmaier 1-29-25 Tonight Pastor Phil continues in Romans, Chapter 8. Paul reminds of the promise that we are children of God, and joint heirs, because of the finished work of Jesus Christ. Although Jesus suffered, as His children we may also suffer. However, we persevere with hope, not only for His guidance through it, but knowing that it is just for a time... We can rejoice that the Kingdom age is coming, and Jesus is coming with it. In Romans Chapters 7 & 8, Paul continues to bring home the point of what the sanctification process is in a believer. In tonight's verses we see his reflection on his own heart and examines it in comparison to Jesus. That Christ Jesus has made us free from the law of sin and death. Romans Chapter 8 is one of the most comforting chapters in the Bible—in fact it is God’s prescription for troubled hearts. "There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit." Romans 8:1 — Brothers & Sisters: Memorize this verse to use against the enemy of your soul! *** Paul chose Rome for a reason when he went out to preach. Firstly, because God had sent him, but because Rome was a central 'point of the world' as 'all roads lead to Rome'. So if he shared the Gospel there, whomever received it would carry God's Word, and the testimonies of Paul and the work they'd seen done out into the four corners of the world. Often referred to as the Gospel according to Paul, and the greatest book ever written, Paul's letter to the Romans will become our focus as Pastor Phil continues to lead us through the Word of God. Calvary Chapel Elk Grove is a non-denominational fellowship located in Roselle, a northwest suburb of Chicago in Illinois.
