from This Is For Us · host Noël Roberts Coley

Hey y'all, welcome back to This Is For Us! We've all had those days where the to-do list feels never-ending, the brain won't shut off, and exhaustion is hitting from every angle. But what if the answer isn't pushing through... what if it's pausing? This week, I'm sharing what happened when I hit my breaking point, walked across the street with my pups, and started talking out loud—to God, to the universe, to myself. Sometimes, we just need a gratitude reset to remember how far we've come. 🩷 🎧 In this episode, we'll talk about: ✔️ The power of a 10-minute gratitude walk ✔️ How to reframe overwhelm into appreciation ✔️ Why speaking your gratitude out loud changes your energy ✔️ What to do when your brain won't stop spiraling ✔️ How to shift your day without changing your whole life If your head feels loud and your heart feels heavy, this one's for you. ✨ Let's reset together. The move towards more renewables in our energy systems complicates matters even further, requiring the development of an integrated power grid and continuous and steady transformation of the UK power system. Network flows must be managed reliably under uncertain demands, uncertain supply, emerging network technologies and possible failures and, further, prices in related markets can be highly volatile. Mathematicians working with engineers and economists, can make significant contributions to address such issues, by helping to develop fit-for-purpose models for next generation energy systems. These interdisciplinary approaches are looking to address a range of associated problems, including modelling, prediction, simulation, control, market and mechanism design and optimisation.
