8. Peace For A New Beginning

A friend and I met for lunch one day to discuss some ministry business. As we were talking, the waitress came up to take our order. We talked for a few minutes and then placed our order. As she was about to leave, my friend said we would be praying in a few minutes before we ate, and he asked if there was anything we could pray for her about. She took a deep breath and immediately said, “Peace '' pray for me to be at peace and to have peace in my life. She said thank you and strolled off to turn our order in. I sat there for a few minutes and took that experience in. A young lady whom most would think had the world on a leash was asking for us to pray for peace. The daily headlines indicate that people's mental and spiritual states are not at ease, not at peace, and it became apparent to me how important a message on peace and a new beginning is greatly needed for today's society,

God shows us in Philippians 4:4-7 how to become and remain centered in our spirit and minds and how His perfect peace keeps our hearts and minds safe and at ease.
Philippians 4: 4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
