from Next Brave Thing Podcast

This episode was such a joy for me to create! Strahan Coleman's work has profoundly impacted my life, so when he agreed to come on my podcast, I was thrilled. In our conversation, I asked him to expand on some of his poetry that has deeply resonated with me. We discuss the power of silence and acceptance, the process of grief, and navigating pain, as well as his personal battle with chronic illness. We also delve into themes of uncertainty, God’s unceasing love, and the spiritual hunger that calls us to seek fulfillment in divine connection rather than worldly distractions. My hope is that, as you listen to Strahan’s insights, you’ll feel inspired to embrace your humanity and lean into the sacred mystery of faith. Finally, we explore his latest book, Thirsting, which beautifully unpacks God’s longing and desire for us, offering a fresh perspective on the divine-human relationship.Watch on youtube: https://youtu.be/7Bi2jduyd8ATakeawaysSilence can be a powerful form of communication with God.Creativity flows from a place of stillness and prayer.Uncertainty in faith can be a sign of deeper intimacy with God.Acceptance is not resignation; it's a hopeful presence with God.God's love is unceasing and transformative.Spiritual hunger is a universal experience.Vulnerability in sharing our struggles can lead to healing.Abiding in God means recognizing His presence within us.The journey of faith is often marked by uncertainty and growth.Find out more about Strahan Coleman: https://www.commonerscommunion.com/aboutBuy Strahan's latest book on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com.au/Thirsting-Quenching-Souls-Deepest-Desire/dp/0830785205/ref=sr_1_1?crid=QW2W2OKWFNFX&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.7neRRymFnabiQuxh-GD5BFI0nIEm-mfsEfpb3p0qgl6Fzne_ugHbGeUBuiFt1_Eb.p_6I91snGQ7jLTqlTgidNpeMoTOGD_zGw1a8u5xFv_s&dib_tag=se&keywords=thirsting+strahan+coleman&qid=1733198859&sprefix=straha%2Caps%2C279&sr=8-1

The move towards more renewables in our energy systems complicates matters even further, requiring the development of an integrated power grid and continuous and steady transformation of the UK power system. Network flows must be managed reliably under uncertain demands, uncertain supply, emerging network technologies and possible failures and, further, prices in related markets can be highly volatile. Mathematicians working with engineers and economists, can make significant contributions to address such issues, by helping to develop fit-for-purpose models for next generation energy systems. These interdisciplinary approaches are looking to address a range of associated problems, including modelling, prediction, simulation, control, market and mechanism design and optimisation.
