However, for Dr. Rosa, SPICE refers to the dimensions of health. About Dr. Rosa:Her career in healthcare and education spans over 2 decades. She was working as a nurse educator and at the bedside in various ICUs as a travel nurse while she finished her doctoral degree in nursing.During those 20 years, she also had three children, maintained a healthy, supportive marriage with her high school sweetheart, and served as her dad’s primary caregiver before he died suddenly due to complications from heart disease and diabetes.She hit her breaking point at the birth of her third child. She was experiencing severe heart failure, and if she wanted to stick around to see her kids grow up, she had to face the fact that she was 70 pounds overweight, taking multiple medications, fighting depression and anxiety every day, on her way to developing diabetes like the rest of her family tree, yet still capable of breaking through all the stereotypes and limitations that her Latin culture and religious upbringing had placed in her brain.So she began to shift her perspective and her life. She developed so many processes and strategic systems over the years. While it wasn't super easy, she had so much to learn and a multitude of mental barriers to break through. She's moved through to the other side where life is pretty wonderful and endlessly exciting.What possessed her to take on opening her practice during the pandemic?
