81| Navigating Postpartum in Business: A Conversation for Leaders of Change

from Dropped In with Meghan Weir · host Meghan Weir, Business, Nervous System & Subconscious Strategist

Welcome back to Dropped In! In this episode, I drop into a topic rarely discussed in the entrepreneurial world - postpartum in business. As a leader in transformational change work, I recently hosted a powerful retreat in Sedona for my Chrysalis crew. The experience was beyond profound, filled with shifts and transformations for my clients. However, upon returning home, I found myself feeling low and somewhat depressed. Confused by these emotions, I turned to my husband, who beautifully pointed out that I was experiencing a form of postpartum. This revelation struck a chord with me, as I realized that giving birth to a business endeavour can evoke similar emotions to giving birth from a personal standpoint. The integration period after the retreat was challenging, especially with flight cancellations and uncertainty about returning home. I found myself in a state of limbo, missing the energy and excitement of the retreat. This postpartum phase was a time of reflection, grief, and adjustment as I navigated the transition back to everyday life.Through the support of my husband, my tools, and practices like RRT, Kundalini, and meditation, I embraced the postpartum experience and allowed myself to process the emotions that came with it. This episode serves as a reminder to all leaders in transformational work that postpartum periods are normal and necessary for growth and integration. As I continue to navigate this journey, I encourage you to embrace the sacred pause, reflect on your experiences, and honour the postpartum phases in your own business endeavours.Thank you for dropping in with me today.
