81. Room Service (Emotional Adulthood vs. Emotional Childhood)
from Actually, You Can · host Bryce Peterson
Why is room service so amazing? Breakfast in bed. Lunch in bed. Dinner in bed. I'm all for it. Well, my lower brain is, anyway. The thing about room service is it checks all the boxes of our lower brains directives: 1. Expend the least amount of personal energy possible. 2. Avoid pain. 3. Seek pleasure. Our lower brains aren't just interested in outsourcing our physical needs and wants. It does it with emotional needs and wants too! That's why we'd much prefer the world to bend to our beliefs and desires so that we can feel the way we want to feel. Plain and simple. Emotional Adulthood represents our own personal sovereignty of our experience. Some things in life cannot be outsourced, and our own emotional state is one of those things. Our personal contentment, as it so happens, is an act of solitude. And that's good thing. Learn more about achieving Emotional Adulthood at BrycePeterson.com
