Loňský rok byl jak pro Česko tak celosvětově opět nejteplejším rokem v historii měření. Přičemž, jak zdůrazňuje náš host, samotný extrém není tak důležitý jako dlouhodobý trend. A ten říká, že se ČR otepluje v průměru o 0,35 °C za dekádu. Což má na svědomí například postupný posun klimatických pásem. Třeba smrkové lesy nyní rostou v oblastech, které jim přestávají klimaticky vyhovovat, což následně vede ke kůrovcovým kalamitám. Ačkoliv média velmi často reportují o extrémech, klimatická změna není jednorázový milník, ale dlouhodobý proces, na nějž je potřeba uvědoměle reagovat.
