86. All Things Metabolism (including Reverse Dieting) with Dietitian, Elaina Efird

from Leanne Ward Nutrition · host Leanne Ward

My special guest for this episode is dietitian, Elaina Efird and we are talking all things metabolic health.   Elaina is a registered dietitian, nutritionist, certified eating disorder dietitian and sports dietitian who specialises in metabolic health.   Elaina has been trained in multiple areas of dietetics and uses the metabolic testing and body composition analysis at her clinic to help her clients meet their nutrition goals.   In this episode, Elaina and I start off by talking about what our metabolism is, whether our genetics influence our metabolism, how to improve our metabolism, foods that help or hinder our metabolism and metabolic testing.   We also discuss chronic under eating, how to know if we’ve been dieting for too long and the concept of eating more to lose weight.   Finally, we run through a case study on why we should stop with the juice detoxes.   You can follow Elaina on her Instagram and TikTok.
