9/08/26: The Birthday That Changed Everything

Tuesday Mass. 9.08.26.  This homily is about the Nativity of Mary and what it reveals about human dignity and purpose. Drawing on the prophet Micah's foretelling of a coming ruler, the homily traces how both Mary and Jesus were born into obscurity and smallness, showing that God often works through what the world considers insignificant. It reflects on how Mary's "yes" to God changed the course of salvation history, and invites listeners to see their own existence — however ordinary or overlooked it may feel — as willed by God and connected to that same story of salvation.
