How Climate Change and Surging Markets Invite Chainsaw-Wielding Thieves. Olive Oil Thefts Threaten Growers and Consumers Olive oil thefts are on the rise in Greece, Spain, and Italy, driven by surging olive oil prices caused by a two-year drought in Spain. Thieves are targeting olive groves and warehouses, stealing branches, trees, and even entire harvests. This is having a devastating impact on olive growers, who are already dealing with high production costs and climate change. Farmers are pleading with police to take action, and some are taking matters into their own hands by harvesting their olives early to avoid theft. However, this results in lower yields and higher costs for consumers. The olive groves outside Athens are part of a centuries-old tradition, and the thefts are a threat to this tradition and to the livelihoods of olive growers. Some of These Thieves have taken to cutting down heavily laden tree branches and in some cases entire trees with chain Red Arrow Camp: Chapel Talks Red Arrow Camp Red Arrow Camp offers a traditional, single-session summer camp experience for boys ages 7 to 16. The Secret Podcast 12Treasures.com Back in 1982 a man named Byron Priess decided it would be a good idea to publish a treasure hunt. He spent a year or so traveling around the country, burying small ceramic boxes two feet underground. He wrote a few poems, and had a friend of his paint some images. The goal was to get the reader to match a poem with a verse, produce a treasure map of sorts, then go dig up the treasures. He thought it would be easy.40 years later we are finding out he was wrong. So far two treasures have been found. One in Chicago, and one in Cleveland… so at least we know they are real. That’s about all we know for sure. This project started with Byron recruiting a bunch of his friends. Sean and Ted to write some descriptions of strange creatures that Byron’s friend JoEllen sculpted out of clay and cloth, which were photographed by his childhood friend Ben. Then Byron’s friends John Palencar, John Pierard, and Overton Loyd made a bunch of images with the sole purpose of confusing all of us.The proj
