93: TBXX | Dub Techno · Techno DJ Set | Ulm at Night

from Outro Podcast · host Outro Podcast

🎞️ youtu.be/xEBkkwt0_kU Episode 93 of Outro Podcast captures Ulm at night — a nocturnal journey past quiet riversides, historic facades and the illuminated silhouette of the old city, soundtracked by a Dub Techno & Techno DJ set by @tbxx. @tbxx TBXX has been a resident DJ at Ulm’s renowned Club Gleis 44 since 2019 and is the founder of the Lignum.OSC label. A passionate drummer from an early age, his musical journey led him from rock and drum & bass to the raw energy of industrial techno. TBXX sees techno as a universal language that connects people around the world. For him, techno is more than just music — it is an expression without borders. https://www.instagram.com/tbxx_gleis44 TBXX about Ulm at night: Ulm is not a city that boasts about its nightlife – and that is precisely part of its character. Everything is close at hand, the old town compact, the distances short. People know each other, run into each other again, and a night out feels more connected than like a loose sequence of stops. Ulm’s electronic music scene is relatively small and shaped more by individual events than by a constant club culture. Good nights happen only occasionally – but when they do, they often carry even more energy. Since the pandemic, nightlife has become noticeably quieter. Much feels more irregular and fragile, and for some, the city has almost fallen asleep. At the same time, pressure from noise complaints and related initiatives has grown, influencing local politics as well. For promoters and organizers, this means more restrictions and less room to operate. Nevertheless, beyond the few remaining clubs, there is still a smaller bar and pub scene – and above all, there are exciting alternative spaces. Across the city’s old fortifications, associations and collectives regularly create irregular, often genre-crossing events. Those who look for them can still find surprising nights far away from the expected. In the end, nightlife in Ulm is not something that simply exists. It is created by the people who make it happen. Complaining about the lack of opportunities changes little – anyone who wants to shape the scene has to become active themselves. And perhaps that is also the greatest opportunity of such a small, still malleable scene. Outro Podcast This is the night. www.linktr.ee/domwaits
