956. Romans Chapter 6 - Our old self was crucified with Him - February 9, 2026

Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 9. I will then key in on verse 6 - Leave your simple ways, and live, and walk in the way of insight (or wisdom). Friends, God wants us to have wisdom. Wisdom can only be acquired by having a holy reverence for Him (and who He is). On today's podcast I will be continuing our study of the Book of Romans. Today we will be going over the first 8 verses of Chapter 6. By the end of today's lesson there are three things I ask that you consider:1. Just as Christ was raised from the dead, we too might walk in newness of life (friends, this is the importance of the act of baptism - be totally submersed in water (getting rid of our "old man" and then coming up out of the water (becoming totally new).2. Our old self was crucified with Him.3. If so, you are missing the point. It is not anything that we do, but ONLY what Jesus Himself did on the cross (for) us that we gain favor (and grace) from God.
