连荣史老师回忆自桐箏转入现代21弦古筝，70—80年代曾掀学筝热潮；其后多次向大陆名师讨教，并在教学与演出中推动本地华乐。 为回应时代审美与技术需求，他以二胡为基础改良为“新提胡”，兼具高把位稳定与多样音色，用于重编汉乐与民歌，使传统更具层次、可被年轻世代接受。台湾清华大学的林佳仪教授指出，新加坡多方言族群与在地文化交融，为客家汉乐注入新意；传统与创新可并存，各有受众。连师亦编纂《汉乐总谱》，期望更多青年以当代方式传承客家声腔，让沙漠变绿洲，续写本土音乐的生命力。See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
