from 9to5 (dotcc) Podcast Network (Montreal)

Who would have thought that electing the party lead by a 60 year old white banker-dude was the result I would be happiest with?   How far we have fallen. As predicted the NDP now have less than 10 seats which I only found out today is the lowest number of seats they’ve ever had since they became a party. Tommy Douglas is rolling in his grave.   All three of us probably enjoyed the 2007 film “Hot Rod” more than most people. I was an OG Lonely Island fan so I’m one of the few people who even saw it in theaters (I may have even been at an advance screening if I remember correctly). It’s certainly not for everyone, but it is certainly for us.   Honestly that’s most of what we talk about in this episode. Hot Rod and the Canadian Election. The Canadian Election and Hot Rod. Perhaps those two things are not so different? Now I want to see Mark Carney punch dance.   Anyways – over on Garbage Time, we play a game of “Fuck, Marry, Kill” with the main-event wrestlers of Night 1 of WrestleMania Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and CM Punk. Our answers will shock you! Maybe. We then discuss how we should make meme movies and finally we get into the NHL Playoffs and the Montreal Canadiens. If you would like to show your support and head over to Patreon and subscribe at the 9ES Deluxe tier to listen to this and all past episodes of Garbage Time that would be appreciated. The move towards more renewables in our energy systems complicates matters even further, requiring the development of an integrated power grid and continuous and steady transformation of the UK power system. Network flows must be managed reliably under uncertain demands, uncertain supply, emerging network technologies and possible failures and, further, prices in related markets can be highly volatile. Mathematicians working with engineers and economists, can make significant contributions to address such issues, by helping to develop fit-for-purpose models for next generation energy systems. These interdisciplinary approaches are looking to address a range of associated problems, including modelling, prediction, simulation, control, market and mechanism design and optimisation.
