He thought it was the priest Eli, so Samuel called back, “Here am I” (1 Samuel 3:4). Eli was asleep, so he did not respond. Samuel then ran to Eli, woke him, and said, “Here am I; for thou calledst me” (1 Samuel 3:5).In his dream, Daniel saw four great beasts (verse 3). The first was like a lion; the second, like a bear; and the third, like a leopard. The fourth was dreadful and terrible and incredibly strong, with huge iron teeth. This beast devoured and trampled everything before it and had 10 horns on its head (verses 4-7).The apostles gathered around Jesus, and told him all that they had done and taught. He said to them, "Come away to a deserted place all by yourselves and rest a while." For many were coming and going, and they had no leisure even to eat. And they went away in the boat to a deserted place by themselves. Mark 6:30:34The staff is first mentioned in the Book of Exodus (Ex 4:2), when God appears to Moses in the burning bush.
