A CLOSE LOOK AT CHIMP AND HUMAN GENOMES

from Edgar Andrews’ Onefootinglory Podcast · host onefootinglory

Chimpanzees are no more our close relatives than mice. We examine in lay-person-friendly terms the claim that the chimps and humans share 98% of their genes and must therefore have had a common ancestor. We began this examination in a previous episode (go back to previous episode to watch the first part) but we now get into the detail of how genes are expressed. It is the expression of genes that makes us so completely different from apes and gene expression is controlled by fantastic molecular mechanisms that neo-Darwinism can't begin to explain.
