A Diatribe Against Self-Righteous Sinners

This episode is a morning devotional centered on Romans 12 and Romans 2, where JD Walt calls listeners to consecration, mind renewal, and surrender to Jesus before moving into a strong warning against self-righteousness. He emphasizes that the law is meant to reveal our need for God, not to fuel moral superiority, and he contrasts true transformation with image management, hypocrisy, and religious performance. A major theme is that hypocrisy inside religious communities can distort witness to the world, and the speaker challenges both leaders and listeners to examine themselves honestly. He closes with prayer, journal prompts, and reflective imagery about the log in our own eye, urging repentance as deep identity renewal rather than outward behavior control.
