The Special Emergency Response Team within the Queensland Police Service provides the ability to respond to high risk situations incidents statewide. The tasks of the role range from resolving siege situations to counter terrorism operations and everything in between including resolving the recent incident in Tara which claimed the life of 6 people including 2 QPS officers and a nearby resident.    With this level of responsibility only around 4-5 applicants are successful out of approximately  70 people per intake. The three-day selection course is regarded as the most difficult and physically demanding course within the Queensland Police Service. It tests physical and mental endurance through individual and team tasks, problem solving, sleep deprivation, basic survival skills and by challenging phobias.  You can only imagine the level of resilience required or to be acquired to have the ability to not only make it through the selection criteria but to maintain your role as a SERT Operator.    Today I have one of our very own QPS SERT operators with me to give some insight into what he does, how he uses those skills transferable to impact his life for the better but also open up about some of the challenges faced with this type of work. For obvious reasons we need to keep his identity private but I hope there’s something you’ll learn today from my conversation around resilience.   Links & Helpful Resources -  Follow Movement + Mimosas on Instagram - @movementandmimosas Follow Sarah on Instagram - @sarah.fitculture Visit my website for blogs/merch/coaching  - www.fitculturebysarah.com  Visit Overwatch Fitness - https://overwatchfitness.com.au/ Follow Overwatch Fitness -  @overwatchfitnessactual   Make sure you hit SUBSCRIBE to the podcast so you don’t miss out on any of these episodes.  If you enjoyed this episode, I would so LOVE for you to leave a rating and review x

Making natural movement to the obvious choice the way natural FOOD is currently. Good Movement Draws Good Movement Terryn Drieling In stockmanship (the art and science of handling cattle in a safe, effective, low-stress manner), we have this phrase . . . good movement draws good movement. It’s this thing that happens when we ask a small group of cattle, maybe a cow, or a pair to move out in a certain direction and their movement draws the whole herd into moving in the same direction.Good movement happens when we approach the cattle with a positive attitude, read and really listen to what they’re telling us, and communicate accordingly. We don’t approach the aware, flighty cattle the same as we do the tame, docile cattle. We adjust ourselves, our energy, and approach, and communicate with each differently. These adjustments help us effectively draw good movement from each, which then draws good movement from the herd. But it starts with us.The same is true for humans. Good movement starts with us.Welcome to Good Movement Draws Good Movement, the podcast where farmers, ranchers, and rural folks can grow relatio Ministry Movement Moments - Principles of Leadership Podcast Reverend Tracy Lewis Welcome to Ministry Movement Moments, a podcast hosted by Reverend Tracy Lewis.
