She Heard a Voice Say "Find My Babies" — Then Discovered 12 Lost Children | LDS
from THINNING OF THE VEIL · host Tia Smith
Send us Fan MailCan those on the other side of the veil ask us to find them? In this tender episode of Thinning of the Veil, host Tia Smith shares a true experience from her cousin Rosalia — a Latter-day Saint (LDS) family history researcher who, while working her Italian ancestral lines, heard a quiet voice plead, "Please find my babies."The name belonged to Julia Melena Cestinado, born in 1859 in northern Italy — a line Rosalia had already decided was too far off her family tree to pursue. But she couldn't ignore the plea. As she searched village records, handwritten in Italian and Latin, a heartbreaking pattern emerged: across 14 years of marriage, Julia bore 12 children, and all but one or two died as infants. Julia herself died the same day as her twelfth baby, at just 34. Distraught, Rosalia took the question to the Lord — and received a compassionate answer: Julia had an RH-negative blood disorder, unknown and untreatable in the 1800s, which explained the losses no one at the time could understand. Then came the healing. In the temple, all twelve children were sealed to Julia and her husband — and Rosalia testifies she felt Julia embracing each baby as the names were read at the altar. "Julia had her babies." It's a witness of the spiritual gifts God gives to those who do this work, the reality that our ancestors know and reach for us, and the tender truth that family history makes us "healers of the generations."Q: Can ancestors on the other side of the veil ask us to find them? (LDS)A: Rosalia testifies that she heard a distinct plea — "Please find my babies" — from an ancestor, Julia, whose line she had set aside. Following that prompting led her to discover and complete the temple work for Julia's entire family.Q: What are the "spiritual gifts" that help with family history work?A: Tia notes that Rosalia was blessed with gifts to read handwritten Italian and Latin records and to receive revelation through research — and teaches that if you have foreign or hard-to-trace ancestors, those same gifts can be sought and given to you.Q: Why does temple sealing matter for a family like Julia's?A: Rosalia describes how, when the twelve children were sealed to their parents in the temple, "a condition of mortality had been made right eternally" — grief turned to joy as the family was bound together forever.Family history isn't just names and dates — it's healing the generations, one plea at a time.▶️ WATCH & LISTEN🎬 YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@thinningoftheveil🌐 Website: https://www.thinningoftheveil.com🎧 Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/thinning-of-the-veil/id1753511394🟢 Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/6jWCfMHkZXwnSwy2b98J4M🎵 Amazon Music: https://music.amazon.com/podcasts/a0a45561-d4c2-46d3-af8d-a1e967a21a25📖 BOOKPatterns of Revelation — Spiritual Foundations for Hearing God's Voice: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BW36MG9B📱 CONNECTInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/thinning.of.the.veilFacebook Group (Gathering of the Gatherers): https://www.facebook.com/groups/1429562078443774Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/thinningoftheveil💛 SUPPORT THE SHOWVenmo: https://account.venmo.com/u/thinningoftheveilPayPal: https://paypal.me/thinningoftheveil✉️ Have you had a thinning of the veil experience?
