Neste episódio, Henrique Monteiro e Lourenço Pereira Coutinho convidaram o historiador João Miguel Almeida, autor do livro “A noite mais sangrenta”, para conversar sobre um dos episódios mais sombrios da História de Portugal: a “noite sangrenta” de 19 de outubro de 1921. Na manhã desse dia, sete mil elementos da Guarda Nacional Republicana comandados pelo coronel Manuel Maria Coelho ocuparam posições na Rotunda, no Parque Eduardo VII e no Terreiro do Paço. Os revoltosos tinham como principal objectivo forçar a demissão do primeiro-ministro António Granjo, um republicano moderado, e inverter a recente relação de forças entre o partido democrático, hegemónico até então, excepto durante o mandato presidencial de Sidónio Pais, e o Partido Liberal Republicano. Em paralelo com a revolução militar, iniciou-se um movimento de carácter difuso, composto por militares e civis, que procurou ajustar contas com o “sidonismo”. Na noite de 19 de outubro, uma “camioneta fantasma” conduzida pelo cabo Abel Olímpio, conhecido por “dente de ouro”, andou pelas ruas de Lisboa a prender e matar de forma sumária e indiscriminada.
