from KC Soccer Journal: A Sporting KC Podcast · host FFSN Sporting KC

Erik Bergrud from the Kansas City Comets broadcast team and Thad Bell from the Kansas City Soccer Journal recorded the latest episode of The Blue Turf for the 2023-24 season and we are again NOT at the now "World Famous" Kansas City Soccer Dome but we will do ourt best to record there again soon. A rough week for the Comets with an overtime loss versus the  Chihuahua Savage. Kansas City held them to just two goals in regulation but a quick overtime counter and the Comets only earned a single point at home. Historically the Comets have not been good in overtime games. Stats provided by the KC Soccer Journal's Mike Kuhn: Kim Røntved 4-2 Vlatko Andonovski 6-4 (2-3 since 15/16 season started) Goran Karadjov 0-1 Kim Røntved 0-4 (so 4-6 overall) Leo Gibson 5-14 Stefan Stokic 0-4 A big topic is the mystery around a couple of missing players from the lineup. Gibson and Sosa were not in the lineup for the last two matches, Eric and Thad discuss what we know and what we know we don't know. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

The move towards more renewables in our energy systems complicates matters even further, requiring the development of an integrated power grid and continuous and steady transformation of the UK power system. Network flows must be managed reliably under uncertain demands, uncertain supply, emerging network technologies and possible failures and, further, prices in related markets can be highly volatile. Mathematicians working with engineers and economists, can make significant contributions to address such issues, by helping to develop fit-for-purpose models for next generation energy systems. These interdisciplinary approaches are looking to address a range of associated problems, including modelling, prediction, simulation, control, market and mechanism design and optimisation.
