A Sign That `I Was There'
from Sunday Homilies with the Redemptorists · host Novena Church
As we hold the palm in our hands, we need to ask ourselves, what does it symbolize? It's a sign of unity and identity. It's a sign that "I was there" -- the same way the hype over friendship bracelets unified fans at the recent Taylor Swift concerts. Unlike them, we are there with our palms to be a part of the welcoming party for Christ. When we hold this palm, it is a reminder and a challenge to ask ourselves, have we betrayed Jesus or am I a true follower? Will I join the ancient crowds and deny Jesus, or will I stand with him until the end. Holding the palm in your hands, what is your answer? -Sunday Homily by Fr. Terence Wee, C.Ss.R. (24 March 2024)
