This morning the president posted “a whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again.” He has threatened to destroy every power plant and every bridge in a country of 88 million people by midnight. Power plants that run hospitals, ventilators, dialysis machines, neonatal units, water treatment. Iran is calling on young people to form human chains around their power plants. 14 million Iranians have volunteered to die defending their country. Earlier in this war a school was hit and 170 children were killed. A university was bombed this week. Trump said he is “not at all” concerned about war crimes. A retired Brigadier General compared these threats to the behavior prosecuted at Nuremberg. Marjorie Taylor Greene called for the 25th Amendment and called it “evil and madness.” The Senate Republican account responded with “Iran would be wise to take President Trump at his word.” Congress is on spring break and doesn’t return until April 14. Iran submitted a 10-point peace proposal that was ignored. The deadline has moved seven times, always timed to when stock markets are closed. Six Democratic veterans who told troops to refuse illegal orders were investigated for sedition - a grand jury threw it out. Tonight is exactly the moment they were warning about.
