A Woman's Voice
from I Scream Sunday
We highlight women creators on this episode of I Scream Sunday. The voices are as varied as the composers themselves. Poemme: “Clouds of Breath” (Soft Ice) Meg Bowles: “Venus Rising” (The Shimmering Land) Tantroniq: “neXt (Premiere Version)” (neXt) VÆRNA: “Winter’s Flight” (Edges of Solstice) Lucette Bourdin: “Last Small Spark” (Drum-atic Atmospheres) As part of Sci-Fi Con in Second Life, we were challenged to create a sci-fi mashup theme around “Eragon vs. Alien”. I decided to create a live set for the second hour honoring the smart woman who survived. Some years back, Adam Shaftoe tweeted: Soooooo I have been writing reviews for about ten years. My wife’s review of Alien puts everything I have ever written to shame. “Alien is a movie where nobody listens to the smart woman, and then they all die except for the smart woman and her cat. Four stars.” In the fight between Eragon and Alien, who wins? Ripley.
