We get the letters from AARP when we turn fifty. We joke and refuse to accept the fact that we are old enough to be an AARP member. When we are done with the jokes the tune we sing often changes. Cynthia J. Fagyas, Communications Director, AARP Arizona Cynthia ‘CJ’ Fagyas joined AARP Arizona in 2000 as Associate State Director for Communications.  Before joining AARP, CJ worked as a news anchor, reporter, and writer in radio, television and public relations in the Phoenix and Chicago markets.  Prior to graduating from Purdue University in 1989 with a BA in Communications, CJ also pursued a recording career in the music industry in Los Angeles. Her professional music career spans more than 20 years and includes tours and performances in Chicago, Santa Fe, Seattle and Scottsdale/Phoenix.  Frank Perazelli, State Coordinator for AARP Foundation Tax-Aide Program in Arizona He was appointed State Coordinator for the AARP Foundation Tax-Aide community service program in 2009 and now coordinates all efforts involving the program and oversees scores of volunteers all across the state.  The AARP Foundation Tax-Aide Program offers free tax counseling and tax preparation assistance beginning February 1 for people of middle and low incomes, with special attention given to people over 60.  Tax-Aide volunteers are trained by AARP in cooperation with the Internal Revenue Service.  Last year, Tax-Aide volunteers in Arizona helped nearly 95,000 people prepare their federal andstate tax returns at 80 sites in Arizona.
