ABBA FATHER - Rev. Jonathan Odega (FEBRUARY 25, 2024)

from Foursquare VGC · host FourSquare VGC

The term “Abba” is the defining term for dear father in the Aramaic language, spoken by Jesus and Paul. It is an intimate term to characterize their personal relationships with God. Jesus is the only begotten Son of God (John 3:16). Therefore, only the Lord Jesus, by nature, can call God “Abba.” Jesus is begotten of God, not made. The character of Abba-Father is to relentlessly pursue His children in order to establish a deep and intimate relationship with each and every one of them. His desire is to bridge every gap or chasm between Him and each of us; to know each person completely and love you unconditionally. Viewing God as your Heavenly Father and believing that He invites you to a life of intimate relationship or union with Him, is a distinctive privilege of the Christian faith. The other faiths believe that God is too Holy and powerful to be approached or related with in a filial manner.
