We've already been sort of getting into the interview, but, uh, I'll, I'll bring her on right now and welcome Judy Balloff to live love engage. Happy to be here. Was looking forward to it for a long time. Yeah. Well, I'm excited, especially, as I said, we've been already before, before all of you got to, to watch and listen. we've been kind of getting in there. So let me let share with you a little bit about this lovely woman and, what she's all about and. Why I wanted to be able to talk with her and, and share our conversation with you today. So, uh, Judy has more than two decades of experience in the financial services sector. She's been responsible for business development and portfolio management of privately held companies from start-ups to middle market. She's also been a senior private banker with Wells Fargo Wealth Management and did retirement planning at New York Life. And in 2021, she published her first book called 365 Days of Abundance, and I think she even has another one coming up too, which we're gonna talk about in a second. But I, I thought, let's, let's start our interview right there with what prompted you to write this initial book that you came up with? Thank you for asking. I love to talk about it. I was, because of my career in the insurance business I got introduced through the women's market at my company to a course we could take with Bob Proctor. It was called, Principles of Prosperity. Hmm. And I don't know about you, but when I was a young banker, I was probably 35. I read Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill because I was a young mother, trying to pay for braces and bikes and you know, summer camp and I, Think and Grow rich, I wanna be rich. Like that would really help So I read the book and at the end of it, I was not rich and so I put it on the shelf and didn't, I don't even, I think the copy got donated or something, never saw it again. So I was surprised when I was watching the course with Bob Proctor that here this book pops up again. Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. And Bob's suggestion. And I think all of us could take a little kernel from this and use it in our own. He said, Watch each lesson. So it was covering the 13 principles of that book, which that's what there are. he said re, watch every video. They were like 25 or 30 minutes long. Watch every video about that principle every morning for a week. Hmm. So it takes you, you know, three months to get through the whole thing. But what that did is you picked up something new every time you listened to it. And what I found in it was this, once in a while, oblique reference to the universal laws that caused me to start research. I asked my study group at, at my company, I said, Have any of you heard of the universal laws? And nobody have is said, Nah. Well, I mean kind of. Sort of, but not really. Yeah. So I said, I'm gonna look up what they are. So I looked them up and typed them up in a neat little list for my whole study group, and they all said, Oh yeah, thank you. But it had really piqued my interest. I had this hunger to know what they were, where they came from, why they're important. And as I did that study through 2020, remember Covid happened March 13th, 2020. And so I was working from my home office and so every time I had spare time, I'd be, I got, books started stacking up around me on the floor. Do you ever do that? Like stacking up on the floor? Cause there's no room on the shelves. And I was totally amazed I, I, I couldn't believe what I was reading. I kept seeing references back to the holy scriptures or back to the 13 principles that Napoleon Hill, like what you find is everything is beautifully connected in this spiritual mysterious way. Mm-hmm. which is so marvelous. It can keep you full of gratitude every day. So I got up on January 7th, 2021 and I said to my husband, cuz I'm the early riser, and he was kind of watching the news in bed, you know, like waiting to get up and I said, David, I just got this idea. I wanna keep these principles and universal laws in my head and heart Every day. somebody should write a book. That has a daily, you know, like you could keep up with yourself, right? And then of course I walked downstairs to get breakfast and I heard this little voice say, you could write the book. I love it when those voices talk to us. That's something my book came about, You should write a book about love. It's like, yeah, yeah. I dunno. So I called my daughter in Spain, who's an editor that by career, that's what she is. Oh, nice. And I said, so Taylor. If I wanted to write this, I got this idea and she had, I had told her about being in the Bob Proctor class and stuff, so, so it wasn't new information to her. I said, This is the book I wanna write. I already have the, the formula. I know what it's gonna look like, yada, yada, yada. And she said, Well, if you wanna finish in time for Christmas sales, you would need to write three posts a day every day. So, At that point, I was full-time at my company. I was trying to make a really high level to get to go on this big fancy trip that they canceled, of course, because of Covid. But whatever. I won the trip. I just didn't get to go. and so I said, Okay, so I will get up and I'm not an early riser. See, when you have a definite purpose, you will do anything to accomplish it. Mm-hmm. anything, you really will. Oh yeah. And I got up at five 30 every morning, even on vacation. In this beautiful resort, went out on the porch of the, David was sound asleep. I had set the alarm for five 30, get up and write on my computer for, for two hours until I got my three posts done. So that's how the book came to be born. And it's, it's such a good book. I read it every day. I love that. I love that. And, Yeah, it is interesting. All of these principles and, and we were, we were talking before we got on how, how it seems to, they're all well, and you pointed out they're all connected and, and they're all, do you know Napoleon Hill has an idea, but then they're, that it's. There's foundations for this in the Bible. And in fact, I, I actually took a course one time at a, at a Unity Church that was called Prosperity for You, and it was really dealing with all of the different times in the Bible where they talk about abundance and things like that. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. so tell me a little bit though, cuz you and I know one of the things we, we wanted to talk about were. These seven P's to control your thoughts. And, and I think that's in, now you decided to write a companion guide or something. So tell me a little bit about that. And this is actually a book by request. Ah, many of the podcasters that interviewed me and we discussed the seven P's to control your thoughts and here's why it's so important. there was a survey done in the early forties asking peop, a thousand people. If they thought every day. Hmm. They said yes. They thought every day. The second question of the survey was, what do you think about? Hmm. 95% of them did not have an answer. Oh, wow. So this is what the survey said. They said, if you think every day you will be like a giraffe in a field of mice, you'll be so rare. 8:06 Hmm....
