João searches for names, records, and classifications, hoping that through writing and collecting, living things may enter eternity.But Nsá has learned another kind of knowledge from the forest.She remembers an old story:Deep in the forest grows a beautiful flower that blooms every year, but never bears fruit.The elders say:It gave all its life to bloom.So it left no fruit behind.People laugh at the flower because it leaves no seed, no harvest, no continuation. João is always searching for what can remain: a book, a specimen, a name, a record that will survive time.
