The Gospel of Luke ends with Jesus' ascension, and Acts begins with Jesus' ascension and the events that follow, making it a seamless continuation. Therefore, the "letter" or "account" mentioned at the beginning of Acts is commonly understood to be the Gospel of Luke.Theophilus is mentioned at the beginning of the Gospel of Luke and the Book of Acts.
