ADHD Medications: History and Insights

from Attention Talk Radio · host Jeff Copper, MBA, PCC, PCAC, CPCC, ACG

For more than eight decades, medication stimulants have been used effectively as a treatment for ADHD.  To date, research suggests that these medications may have the highest impact on helping those with ADHD move forward in life. In this episode of Attention Talk Radio, attention and ADHD coach Jeff Copper (www.digcoaching.com) shares an interview from 2018 with Dr. John I. Bailey, Jr., retired medical doctor who specialized in the treatment of ADHD and was known as the “dean” of ADHD treating physicians in Alabama. Dr. Bailey talked about how, by accident, the stimulants had been discovered to help those with ADHD to focus. He discussed the history of stimulant medications and articulated a simple difference in the various drugs and their effects. If you are curious about ADHD and stimulant medications, be sure to listen to this episode.  Attention Talk Radio is the leading site for self-help Internet radio shows focusing on attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and attention deficit disorder (ADD), including managing symptoms of attention deficit disorder, adults with ADD, or adults who have children with ADHD.
