Adonizedek I: What it Means to Be Self-Righteous

The name Adoni-zedek means "My Lord is Righteous" or "Lord of Righteousness.” But the righteousness of Adonizedek was purely demonic. WHAT IS THE SPIRIT OF SELF-RIGHTEOUSNESS? 1. Self-righteousness, which is related to legalism, is the idea that we can somehow generate within ourselves a righteousness that will be acceptable to God (Ephesians 2:8-9). 2. Self-righteousness is to be filled with a conviction of being morally superior to others. They are smugly: They behave in a way that shows excessive satisfaction or pride in oneself or show they are virtuous (Luke 18:9-14). 3. Self-Righteousness is the Spirit that makes you think you are more righteous than others, thus, you have the right to judge their lives, choices and decisions (Romans 14:4, Micah 7:8).
