Who or what offends you? Not because I want you to tell me, but because I want you to see what those moments reveal about you. When something or someone lights you up, there is almost always a deeper reason. Maybe it bumps into an old insecurity, a former version of you, or a part of your life that you have not fully let go of yet.Offense is information. If you get offended by the same things over and over again, especially with different people, it might show you where your unspoken expectations are. We all have expectations. We try to hide them, but they still drive our feelings and reactions. When you understand your expectations, you can turn them into communication instead of resentment. You can request what you need and the other person has every right to respond with yes or no.It is also possible that offense shows you where your opinions have become part of your identity. If someone challenges that opinion, it can feel like they are challenging you. That is a heavy way to live. Everybody has different experiences, and different opinions. So if some of this sounds like you, that is okay. This is information. This is how you learn, grow, and move forward in life. You can take a step back, assess, and decide how you want to respond. You can protect yourself with a boundary if needed, and you can do all of this without trying to control anyone else.Thank you for listening and watching. I appreciate you being here.
